From Conversation to Deployable MVP in One Session

How I turned a 20-minute client call about guitar shopping into a fully functional SaaS product with payment processing and a complete social media launch kit.

3Revenue Streams
Axe Hunter Website

The Product: Axe Hunter

A guitar deal aggregator that searches eBay, Reverb, Guitar Center, Sweetwater, and Amazon simultaneously. Musicians can find their dream guitar across all major marketplaces with one search.

Built with Stripe subscriptions, email capture, price history tracking, and saved search alerts. Every feature a real SaaS needs to generate revenue from day one.

Here's What Happened

Jon came to me with an idea. He was tired of checking five different websites every time he wanted to find a good deal on a guitar. "What if there was one place to search them all?" he asked.

Classic founder moment. A real problem he experienced himself. That's always the best starting point.

His original thought was a mobile app. I pushed back on that. Apps are expensive, slow to iterate, and you're at the mercy of app store approval. A web app gets you to market faster, costs less, and you own the distribution.

He agreed. We mapped out the core features: search across marketplaces, filter by guitar type and condition, price history tracking, and saved search alerts. Then we talked monetization.

"Don't build something and then figure out how to make money. Build the revenue model into the product from the start."

— Ryan Cunningham, Ready, Plan, Grow!

We settled on three revenue streams: affiliate commissions from all five marketplaces, subscription fees for unlimited searches, and email list for future product launches and partnerships.

Then I built it. The whole thing. Logo, website, database, Stripe integration, founder pricing modal, email capture, exit intent popups. Plus a complete social media launch kit: Facebook assets, six Instagram posts with captions, and three promotional videos.

Jon walked away with a deployable product and everything he needed to start marketing it. Not a mockup. Not a prototype. A real, working business.
